Nextcloud is the developer of the open-source software that we offer. We take care of hosting, security and updates, so you can simply use it.

 

Yes. You can start with a trial account to explore the platform before upgrading.

 

We use our own hardware, hosted in the Netherlands, with your data stored in a certified data center in Amsterdam (DC1).

By running our service on our own infrastructure, instead of public cloud platforms like Amazon, we keep full control over every layer of the system.

Subscription
& Billing

While others use your data to stay profitable, we don’t.
But being the nice kid on the block (offering our service for free) doesn’t pay the bills.

To keep our promise alive, and to grow in a conscious, sustainable way, we moved to a paid model — so we can keep building a safer digital home for everyone.

Free accounts let you explore the basics. Paid subscriptions offer more storage, more optional features, better performance and personal support.

Yes. You can change your subscription at any time via your Subscription Manager. 

We offer Paypal, Creditcard, IDeal, SEPA transfer, SOFORT banking, Bancontact and KBC/CBC Button. 

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your dashboard, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions (Article 6.5).

If you have paid for a full year in advance, your subscription will remain active until the end of the paid term. You will keep full access to your account and data during this period. No refunds are issued for unused time, as stated in the Terms & Conditions.

When your subscription ends — either after cancellation or after non-renewal — your account is permanently closed and all data is permanently deleted, as described in Article 6.6 of the Terms & Conditions. This deletion is irreversible, so please make sure to back up any data you wish to keep beforehand.

The handling and deletion of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Statement, which explains how we process and erase data in line with applicable data-protection laws.

If a payment is missed, your account is temporarily suspended. If it is not renewed within 30 days, your account is permanently deleted and all data is permanently erased.

Support

No, that’s not possible. We manage all versions because we first test them extensively and, if necessary, optimize them. This way we prevent you from having to solve annoying errors or bugs yourself. Doing so, we can guarantee that you will always be able to use the service effortlessly, without any hassle.

This has to do with the fact that we’ll first test and possibly optimize all versions that are released. We want you to be able to use our service carefree and hassle-free. By testing the new release first, we prevent you from being troubled by possible errors or bugs. As soon as we have tested the new version, all users are automatically updated with the new version.

Personal support requires time and expertise. Paid plans make that possible while keeping the platform sustainable.

Use of your own domain name is possible for subscriptions of 500 GB or more. If you want to make use of this option please send us a message stating the e-mail address you have subscribed to. Simply let us know which domain name you want and we will arrange it for you.

Yes it is! The Good Cloud offers each user the possibility to enable two factor authentication. By using an additional authentication tool (i.e. an app on your phone), you create an extra layer of security for your user account. See this article on how to enable two factor authentication.

If you have 2fa enabled and you try to set up CalDav/CardDav with a third party it will give you an error when trying to log in. You should use an app password to make it work. Navigate to Settings > Security > scroll down to Sessions & Devices > type in a new app name (e.g., “iOS/macOS”), enter your master PW (if asked for), then copy down your newly generated password. Now in the third party application you should not use your regular password in the password field. But instead you should use the app password you copied previously

Please be aware that E2EE can only be applied to subfolders and that files within the encrypted folder cannot be shared with other users (unless you share your E2EE secret). You can only edit documents in the encrypted folder on the computer syncing with the desktop client. Online editing or viewing of files in the encrypted folder is not possible. Please note that using E2EE leads to an increase of approx. 30% in your storage amount. If you are okay with these restrictions, we can enable E2EE encryption on your environment.
