We initially started using some popular social networking services because we didn’t want to preach only to the choir, but we’ve long abandoned our angry bird microblogging account and others. We simply never found any engagement that would benefit the community on there, so we lost interest in it.
However, we joined Mastodon.nl about a year ago just to participate in some of the conversations we were seeing. Not for the sake of marketing, we just want to be more present in the various communities we love, be it privacy, open-source software, or political issues regarding the digital world that would impact the security of our platform.
We share some tips and tricks and even highlight the occasional niche bug in some software for our fellow Nextcloud administrators.
